The son of two very keen amateur photographers, I
took my first photographs at the age of 4 on a Kodak rangefinder camera.
My photography really took off when for my seventh birthday I was given a
Zenit SLR and I never looked back!
As a child, family holidays revolved around taking photographs - my Father
took slides and my Mother colour prints so, determined to be different, I
took Black and White - in hindsight the best grounding a beginner could
have. I soon learnt how to develop and print my own work and at the
age of 17 I had my first exhibition in Oxford of 20 prints of Tuscany.
I now split my time between my job as a classical record producer (my other childhood love was
music and I run a well established and successful music production company)
and my photographic work. Having attained the
LRPS in November 2004 I am currently preparing a portfolio for
submission to an ARPS panel, based on a series of
images shot in Siena during the Palio horse race. A selection
of these featured in the Nikon Owner Magazine in January
2006. Other published work ranges from the covers of
"Clarinet & Saxophone" & "RailPro Magazine"
with regular images in various specialist photographic publications
including "Black & White Photography".
I also have a wide selection of stock images on the Alamy website
ranging from Pumpkins to Pianos, Acupuncture to Audio Equipment, and
London park benches to Lake District sheep - an eclectic mix as is
often the way with stock photography! I regularly undertake
stock shoots on a release-exchange basis where I shoot for free, the
subject gets a full set of high resolution images and the rights to
use them for any purpose and I get full model and property release
to use the images for stock. Do contact me if you think this
might be of interest.
With a Nikon D2X 12 Mega Pixel DSLR, and lenses ranging from
12mm to 450mm, a hi-resolution film
scanner and A3 pigment ink printer, and considerable experience with Photoshop
CS2, I am
equipped for most eventualities and happy to tackle any subject.
I am always happy to consider commissions of any type so do get in touch.
